i think your goal is a very realistic one

and you have the right approach: nothing drastic, just one small step at a time

you can do it!

3 weeks ago however, I found a website (http://www.sparkpeople.com), I registered, and I've lost 5 pounds since then. I'm not a dieter, I love food too much so you woud think that that website is magic! But no, it's not! It has just allowed me to learn about my food intake, what is right or wrong about it, and then to adjust. I found out, for example, that I was eating very little protein, so no wonder I was always snacking! So now I plan my snacks so I don't go CRaZzZy in the cookie bag, I eat healthy without being hungry and I feel great! You don't have to use the food and fitness trackers like I do (I don't have kids so I have the time to do this, but I assume most of you don't). The discussion groups are great, you can learn many things, ask questions, give some advice, just whine if that's what you feel like, etc. People there are so nice, it's awesome! Anyway, that's my piece of advice, I hope it can help someone!
Haley, I'm sure you can do this, we are all with you there!

well .. you know some of my take on the weight loss .. I had also gone 7 yrs with NO shift in weight (due to birth of my son, plus two m/c's ..plus a horse accident last summer landing me in bed for 5 weeks) where it was impossible to get on 'a plan'. Then in march ..after talking to friend about her 45lbs loss two years ago I gave her plan a try. Now - 30lbs less, and not an hour of cravings or deprivation I feel great. You know Haley, it's all about balance. It's about less sugar (so even though it is healthy, watch the fruit in take .. have it in the morning), balance your carb with a protien, have 5 smaller meals .. and protion control. I cannot believe how much I exercise like a fool thinking it was the KEY to weightloss, it is not. It is necessary, for maintaining a healthy weight for sure, and for your heart and lungs and general well-being. But the balanced eating and protion control and keeping your glycemic index level, these are what made the weight simply drop off. I'm not exagerating when I say .. that this continues even now, even when I have choc. cake for dessert, or pasta occasionally for dinner. It's about kick-starting your metabolism so it takes care of the cheat days .. so, you can be happy as well as trim :0). Good luck, I know you can do it cause I know you have all the tools to be successfull!

I've been really having a hard time myself losing this prego weight. If I'm correct, we had our babies around the same time. And even though they say losing for the second is a lot harder, what I never hear is how hard it is if you've never lost the weight from the first baby in the first place.
The other thing I find so difficult is that I have two friends who both had babies within a month of me and they are both back to their 110-120lb body selves. Well doesn't that just make me want to g out and grab some m&m's.
I've got at least 40lbs to lose before I'll be happy with my weight.
I'm leaving for Australia mid december. I knew that trip was going to happen when I was pregnant. I vowed I would be my ideal weight when I went there this time because last time I went I had just had my first child and I hated looking at each and every photo of myself. How terrible to be somewhere so amazing and NOT AT ALL want to be in any photos.
Needless to say, I've been going to the gym at least 4 days a week and trying my best to eat right.....my weight just doesn't change. I still look four or five months pregnant. It's absolutly frusterating. I'm sure I'm doing everything wrong. The more I feel like a failure in losing weight, the more crap I eat. Keep me posted on your success...I need a little inspiration.
